Between high school and the university, Dr. Dutilly studied abroad in Bolivia (South America) under the auspices of the Rotary Club. In 2004, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with degrees in Spanish and Geography. After obtaining a master's degree in education from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2012, Dr. Dutilly was recruited into the PhD program at CU's School of Education. There, he studied educational psychology, program evaluation, adolescent development, and STEM education under the guidance of Dr. Benjamin Kirshner. He graduated with a Ph.D. in education research in December of 2018.
Occupationally, Dr. Dutilly has worked in numerous schools, from public to private Montessori. He has volunteered for many years with local youth programs, including Sierra Club youth chapters. He has conducted program evaluations of local non-profit organizations that inspire disadvantaged children to attend higher education. He worked as an education program evaluator for American Indians in higher education. He has also worked in the software tech industry.
Born in Wisconsin, Dr. Dutilly fell in love with Boulder, Colorado, when he first visited over 15 years ago. His love of Boulder was made up of equal parts mountain running, rock climbing, the climate, and educational opportunities.
Dr. Dutilly is from a Puerto Rican-American family and dedicates free time to playing music, outdoor recreation, practicing Spanish, and mentoring younger family members who still live in Wisconsin.

To offer the best academic instruction imaginable for students, parents, teacher colleagues, and tutors, with a strong emphasis on executive function-infused instruction.
To open the minds of as many students, parents, teachers, and education professionals about the approaches and benefits of blending academic instruction with executive function skill development.
We believe that the best academic instruction comes from blending four concepts: research-based tutoring practices, executive function skill development, best practices in study skills, and relationship-driven teaching.
RiT does what schools wish: customize education to fit the individual student's needs. To do this, we stick to our own ABCs: Artificial intelligence, Bold, Community, Driven, Empathetic, and Fun.
Artificial Intelligence. We stay on the cutting edge of technology to support our students on a one-on-one basis. The newest technology of today will be your child's tomorrow.
Bold. We are not afraid to pilot new approaches, deviate from the curriculum, or experiment to find a way to capture your child's imagination, motivation, and inspiration.
Community. We live, serve, and contribute to the economy of the Boulder community. We help raise the children here and consider ourselves as mentors and teachers.
Driven. - We are driven to provide the best education possible by leveraging tutoring, technology, and the high quality materials.
Empathetic. We care about our work and our students. We honor their emotions, and we are aware that many of our students have received endless amounts of negative feedback from peers and the school system.
Fun. Above all, we strive to make learning fun and engaging. All of our sessions begin with an icebreaker activity: a learning game, origami, or a fun get-to-know-you question. And we end with a "Rose and Thorn" reflection for the day.
